  17. <p>    Collecting baseball cards was once every parent's idea of a
  18. nice quiet hobby. The only noise it inspired was the popping of
  19. bubble gum. But this month LJN Toys will introduce baseball
  20. cards that produce their own chatter when inserted into a
  21. battery-operated player called Sportstalk. On tiny vinyl records
  22. that have been laminated on the back of each baseball card,
  23. players from Hank Aaron to Los Angeles Dodger Kirk Gibson
  24. reminisce for some two minutes apiece about their famous
  25. moments on the field. The retail price for the machine with four
  26. cards will be $28; additional four-card packs will sell for $5.
  27. The toymaker has already received 400,000 orders for Sportstalk
  28. from such retailers as Toys "R" Us and Child World.
